Ultrahuman alternative

Ultrahuman got the pricing right. Sixteen also skips the ring.

Ultrahuman sells its ring without a membership, which is the right idea. Sixteen takes it one step further: no ring at all. Use the Apple Watch or WHOOP strap you already own and get the full health loop for $99 once.

Why people use Ultrahuman

Ultrahuman won people over by refusing the subscription model that Oura and WHOOP built. The Ring AIR is light, the sleep and recovery indexes are clear, and add ons let you pay only for what you use.

What Ultrahuman does well

  • No membership for the core app
  • A light ring with sleep, recovery and movement indexes
  • Add on modules you can pick and choose

Where Ultrahuman still costs you

You still need to buy a ring, and it only knows what a ring can sense. If you already wear an Apple Watch, that is a second device and a second charger for data you mostly have. Nutrition and strength are light, and the app stops at the score. Check current Ultrahuman pricing before you decide; it has changed before and may again.

Ultrahuman sells the Ring AIR outright and has not required a membership for its core scores. Some add on features (PowerPlugs) are paid separately. Prices checked September 2026.

What Sixteen does differently

No new hardware

Sixteen reads the Apple Watch or WHOOP strap you already wear. There is nothing to size, ship or charge.

A full loop, not a scorecard

Recovery sets the day's target, movement earns screen time, bedtime locks the apps. The score is the start of the day, not the end of the app.

Food and lifting that count

Meals by search or photo, sets by weight and reps, both feeding strain and recovery.

One price, forever

$99 once. No modules, no plugs, no ring to replace when the battery fades.
