About
Sixteen is a health app for iPhone that pays you back in screen time.
It reads the wearable you already own, an Apple Watch through Apple Health or a WHOOP strap directly over Bluetooth, and turns the night and the day into four scores: sleep, recovery, strain and nutrition. Then it does the thing no other tracker does. It locks the apps you chose and lets your body, your workouts and your habits unlock them.
What Sixteen is
- A wearable companion with no membership. The strap or watch you own is the sensor. Sixteen is the app. You pay for the app once, or monthly, and never for the hardware's subscription.
- A full health app. Sleep score against your own need, recovery from HRV and resting heart rate against your baseline, day strain from heart rate zones and lifted load, nutrition by search or photo, a strength log, GPS activities and an AI coach called Teen.
- Screen time control that runs on your body. Distracting apps lock on the schedule you set. A walk, a workout, a logged meal, a finished task or three slow breaths open them again.
- Private by design. Health and screen time data are processed on the phone. Nothing leaves it unless you turn on backup, and nothing is sold or used for ads.
Who makes it
Sixteen is made by Tropolin Labs LLC, a small independent company. It is not affiliated with Apple, WHOOP, Oura, Garmin or any device maker. Those names appear on this site only to identify the devices a user may already own.
Where to get it
Sixteen is available on the App Store for iPhone running iOS 17 or later. Pricing is $99 once for lifetime access, or $19.99 a month. There is no free tier and no trial, and we say so up front.
How we decide what to build
If we cannot explain a number, we do not show it. Every score has a published method on the science page. We make no accuracy claims against other brands and no medical claims. Sixteen is not a medical device and does not diagnose anything.
